“Like little kids with propellers on their heads” Chris Matthews
Its really not too much of a stretch for me to imagine all of the staffers at the WH running around playing tag, having pillow fights in the Lincoln Bedroom, and whooping it up while the country burns.
After the 2008 election, I firmly believed that anyone associated with this train wreck had to be doing large quantities of laughing gas anyway to sustain their ability to believe in the impossible. After all, they did just help to elect the Junior Senator from Illinois with virtually no leadership skills to the highest office of the last super-power in the free world. Can we even still be called that?
As the “super committee” plows into the far end of the Field of Dreams, President “I voted Present” once again doesn’t even bother to show up. After a quick visit to Hawaii, Australia, Indonesia, and Bali, its back to business helping the American people through this crisis. Or not. There is an election to think about you know. Its more important for him to lob grenades at anyone who has a different idea than him. It was actually pretty shocking to hear from Chris that the Obama folks don’t do much face time with even their own peeps. One of the first lessons I teach in my communications class is that Email, while convenient, is the absolutely worst way to communicate.
One thing about the past three years I do appreciate is the confirmation of what happens when you allow progressives with fantasies about social justice to be in charge. This period should end for all time the notions that the principles they espouse may seem nice on paper but will not work in the real world. Words with no substance, promises with no ability to meet them, and empty speeches may be good for stirring up the masses but they don’t solve problems. You have to work to do that.
Tantrums are merely an indication that whoever is having them hasn’t fully matured and developed. If we have learned nothing in the past four years, this should be one of the big lessons. Is that truly what people expected? Frankly, the Tantrum in Chief didn’t surprise me much when he endorsed the Occupy whatever party.
The day I truly gave up on this administration is the day that a sitting President of the United States tried to coerce and bully the Supreme Court in his state of the Union speech.
The behavior was undignified, uncalled for, and unlike anything a true leader would engage in at a time when the country needed leadership. Then he selected two candidates for that court who are so out of touch with the mainstream of America it is a travesty. The great divider has left an indelible mark on this country for the remainder of its life.
The only hope I still hold is that the rest of the brainwashed masses will wake up before we give this incompetent administration another term. My favorite part of Matthews little speech is that other than more hope and change, Obama hasn’t given us any clue of what he would do differently. To me, that is just more proof that he is more interested in the seal of office than he is in actually doing the job.
