Wreaths Across America
From the web site: “Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.”
Over the past few years, The Navy League Pittsburgh Council has been involved with the Wreaths Across America.
Every wreath that is ordered identifying the Pittsburgh Council, the council receives a five dollar donation. To order wreaths and or to sign up to lay wreaths: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/47147/Overview/?relatedId=17115
No ceremony will be held and you can sign up for a specific time to help lay wreaths on either December 17 or 18.
Thanks for checking out the program. If you would like to volunteer or contribute, check out their web site.
We also do them with the Girl Scouts here in Florida at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery (FLCCNC) in Mims.
Mister Mac,
Thank you for sending this out. It served as a reminder to me of the upcoming service. I’ve been trying to volunteer for the wreath laying ceremony at the Alabama National Cemetery for a while. It seems that I am always working. This year I should be able to make it.
Regards, Skip Mize
