March 15, 2019 Awards Ceremony – What a great night

We celebrated the homecoming Pittsburgh Style for the USS Pittsburgh SSN 720 Last night. Also held our annual Pittsburgh Council Sea Services Awards.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Mar. 15, 2019) Commanding officer of the nuclear-powered Los Angeles-class, fast-attack submarine USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), Cmdr. Jason Deichler, from Scott Township, Pa., speaks to members of the Pittsburgh Council of the Navy League of the United States at an award banquet to honor the crew of Pittsburgh and local area Sailors. Pittsburgh crewmembers are participating in various events around Pittsburgh to bring awareness to the U.S. Navy’s mission. The Navy’s fast-attack submarines are designed to seek and destroy enemy submarines and surface ships; deliver missiles and special operations forces ashore; conduct intelligence operations; and engage in mine warfare.
